To produce cake or chocolate fillings, the liquid product - which has a high fat and sugar content - is fed via an external pump into the DLM/FS solid-liquid inline mixer. To achieve a creamy consistency, the product often contains a gas content of a few percent. The solid components are continuously fed into the INDAG inline mixer via a weight feeder (dosing scale).
A screw conveyor transports the product through the rotating mixer, while it is simultaneously mixed gently and homogeneously by the rotor-stator system. Since the fat- and sugar-containing mixture is particularly temperature-sensitive, the INDAG mixing principle ensures extremely gentle processing. The temperature rise remains below 1 °C. Liquid additives such as flavorings or colorants can be pumped directly into the mixer via additional inlets as needed.
The homogeneously mixed product exits the mixer with virtually no pressure through the product outlet on the front side. The rotor-stator clearances are individually adjusted to the size of the solid particles. This ensures optimal and gentle mixing for every application.
The mixer is typically installed immediately before the filling line. This process is known as “end-of-pipe mixing” and allows mixing to take place only in the final process step. If installation directly before the filling line is not possible, a pump is installed downstream of the mixer to feed the product to the next process step.
For manual cleaning, INDAG offers the optional “Easy Clean” slide, which allows the mixer housing to be opened quickly and easily. This significantly reduces the effort required for cleaning. Of course, the mixer is also suitable for CIP cleaning.
Production capacities range from a few hundred kilograms per hour up to seven or more metric tons per hour.
